What can cause dysbiosis?

The main causes of dysbiosis in companion animals include:

 - Antibiotic treatment
 - Intestinal pathogens
 - Dietary indiscretion (e.g. scavenging)
 - Sudden change of diet
 - Prolonged fasting
 - Stress (e.g. travel, shows and kennels)
 - Life-stage (e.g. weaning and old age)

The most common symptom associated with dysbiosis is diarrhoea.
