Protexin Veterinary sponsors 'Rabbits: Health and Management'

Protexin Veterinary is proud to be a sponsor of 'Rabbits: Health and Management', the latest in the Wildpro® electronic reference series, produced by charity the Wildlife Information Network (WIN), which will be available from early December 2008.

Rabbits:  Health and Management (lagomorphs) provides a definitive veterinary resource.  It contains comprehensive and up to date information on the identification, natural history, conservation, captive management, diseases and veterinary care of domestic/house rabbits and wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and their wild relatives (rabbits, hares and pikas).   Aimed at vets, veterinary nurses, rehabilitators, animal carers and students, it has been in development for two years and is available both on CD-ROM and via the Internet on the WIN Website to members of the charity.  Rabbit expert Mrs Frances Harcourt-Brown FRCVS led the external peer review process.

Iain Boardman, Chief Executive of WIN, commented:  "The launch of this latest volume in our wildlife education series was prompted by feedback we received from universities, colleges and veterinary schools that there is a lack of collated information available on this species group.  We're indebted to our generous sponsors, including Protexin, whose support has enabled us to fund the project.  We hope the module will provide a valuable resource for all those involved in rabbit treatment and care."
